HONOR, DOCUMENT, ENSURE INCLUSION OF LGBT CONTRIBUTIONS & ACHIEVEMENTS.......

The OUTMUSIC Awards (OMAs) is the biggest night in LGBT music & entertainement presented by LARA the LGBT Academy of Recording Arts. Our mission is to educate, raise awareness and ensure that the contributions and achievements of marginalized LGBT are acknowledged, documented, celebrated and included in media, music and entertainment history. To support our missions, we film the OUTMUSIC Awards live to tape.

The OMA trophy is the highest accolade given to a recording artist to recognize their achievements. The production of the OUTmusic Awards features performances by some of the best out and proud LGBT recording artists in the music industry. It is the equivalent to the Grammy Awards, the Country Music Awards, the Latin Grammy Awards, and the Black Entertainment Awards (BET Awards).

The organization OUTmusic Inc. was founded in 1990 by life partners Daniel Martin and Michael Biello, as a community based project to create a safe space for openly LGBT musicians, vocalist and composers to express their gender indentities in all beautiful ways.

The first OUTmusic Awards (OMAs) began in 2001 following the fold of the Gay & Lesbian Music Awards (GLAMAS) which began in 1996 - 1999.
